I was just wondering what Joel and Ethan Coen were up to. It’s been awhile since True Grit. Their new one is called Inside Llewyn Davis, and it’s not a western, though it is a period piece, set in what looks like the early ’60s. John Goodman’s in it, sporting great facial hair, and F. Murray Abraham looks hip. There’s a cat and an angry lady and though it seems to be about a folk singer, we don’t get to hear any songs aside from one by Bob Dylan. I don’t know why, but this looks better to me than any other recent Coen Bros. movies. No word yet on when it opens.

I liked this trailer, it looks.. typical until near the end you see some interesting images.. like John Goodman on the floor in distress.. which suggests something less bland than the first half of the traiiler.
